What had happened was, she had a digital product that she was selling and she put here affiliate requests on auto approve. So that means if someone asks to be an affiliate, they get approval immediately and can use their new affiliate links right away to promote your product without her every needing to hear from the affiliate. With JVZoo and a few others, that also means you can start making cash immediately.

This all sounds great, but actually it isn’t. This is why…

I’m a bad guy. I need quick cash. I steal your wallet. All you have is a few bucks and some credit cards. I know you will report them stolen and they’ll be useless pretty quickly. So I go to either the Warrior Forum, Jvzoo, anywhere that has instant Paypal payments for affiliate sales.

Then I find something with a great commission, request an affiliate link and then start buying through my own affiliate link with the stolen credit cards. I get the instant payments straight to my Paypal account. I keep doing this until the stolen card is no longer working. I then withdraw the Paypal funds and you’re stuck having to refund everyone’s money. Including my commissions.

The money has been withdrawn, so there is nothing Paypal can do. YOU need to eat it! So the lesson here, do NOT automatically approve affiliates, ever! Check to make sure they are real people. See how long they have been an affiliate. Have they ever made any other sales other than today on the network? If they are from Warrior Forum, do they have any posts.

During my first WSO, I had at least 10 affiliate requests that I turned down. Why? They had no posts and nothing to show me they were real people in any way. Why should I care?

A lot of blackhat forums will get a group together and find things with either high affiliate commissions or low cost and have another buy from the link. Then they will all share the WSO, essentially paying pennies on the dollar for the content. Or worse, ask for a refund to boot! (As a side note, legally you do not need to approve a refund request for digital goods from Paypal, it’s in the TOS. Just tell PP that you deny the request, and there is nothing anyone can do.)

So although you may think a situation like this doesn’t apply to you, it does if you are selling any kind of products. Always think about who you are approving as an affiliate. If you are new, stick with affiliates that have at least 50 posts or have affiliate sales of more than a day or two previous. Just these few precautions can help you quite a bit.

And the woman? She contacted JVZoo and Paypal and got things worked out. Well, at least with JVZoo. Bryan, the tech partner of JVZoo, was quick to help and will actually change things so automatic approving of affiliates can no longer be done. Apparently he was really helpful. So it’s nice to know that there really are people watching your back.

Okay, here is something you probably won’t see too often, someone laying bare their failure. But I want this blog to be a true representation of what I am experiencing as a marketer, so I am going to be dead honest about the whole situation.

I recently launched my first WSO (Warrior Forum Special Offer), and the results were, well…let’s just say they were less than desired results. Actually to be frank, they were horrible! And after the whole embarrassing experience, I totally understand why.

So here is a bit of background on the situation and why I even decided to do this WSO. I have a few Amazon affiliate sites, and they are doing well. So I know there is money to be made with them. The problem is good content is expensive. And even tough to find great PLR as far as great Amazon product reviews.

Then I see this guy who comes out with some decent PLR on Warrior Forum for affiliate product reviews. He limits the offering to 300, which I was lucky enough to buy, and it sells out in hours. They were good. I’ll probably buy every one he puts out. But they weren’t anything I couldn’t do as well, and better.

So I get the bright idea that I want to do a small WSO before launching my heart and soul product, HighPRBacon.com, so that I can learn the physical process of doing a WSO so I don’t mess it all up when it comes time to do my most important launch. (I’m really glad I did) So I decide to do what he did, but only in a different niche. I figure it is a great way of seeing how to put together a WSO and how the whole process works. Actually it is a bit daunting the first time around.

But my main goal was to learn. And wow! Did I learn! I learned what NOT to do! I initially sold 7 offers and 4 OTOs. (One time offers or upsell, although mine was a downsell) Ugh! My first WSO tanked. And hard! Luckily another marketer, Jeff, was also doing a lot of Amazon PLR stuff, but with videos, and he decided to mail for me. His conversions and sales made me feel like a total idiot. His conversions were great. Of course he was in the same niche and had a great targeted list, so of course he did well.

I on the other hand had no list and no other affiliates. But I saw what I was doing could work. But even now I have made less than 50 sales. Discouraging if I just look at the negatives, but even though this was a complete sales failure, there were so many positives attached to it. This WSO was meant to be a learning experience. And boy did I learn! Mostly I learned what NOT to do. But seriously, knowing what not to do is just as important or even more in some cases. So I am very glad I launched this before I launched my pride and joy.

So why did this WSO fail so badly? Lots of reasons. I didn’t have a list, no affiliates, no reviews or testimonials and my sales copy sucked. Basically a recipe for disaster. I was way too flippant about the entire process. I though the offer would sell just because it was a great offer and I saw others doing it. I didn’t realize that this person had a lot of affiliates pushing for him that he’d been working with for a while. And by the time I watched his amazing results, a nice buyers list as well.

Actually I didn’t realize a lot of things. But this experience has taught me a lot. I definitely don’t regret it. Of course I wish it didn’t happen they way it did either. But now that I’m in it, I am trying to learn as much as I can from it so it doesn’t happen again.

The first thing I needed to face is those demons telling me to forget it. I suck! And that I shouldn’t be doing this. Yes, I have doubts. Now I need to wrestle with them. Especially because I plan on doing more WSOs. This is where I believe a lot of people would just walk away. And yes, I thought about that too. But I have more WSOs in me. I will succeed in this!

The second thing I need to do is plan a LOT better. There are so many things that I should have done but didn’t because I thought the offer would stand on its own and I saw others already doing and succeeding at basically the same thing. Don’t fall into this trap!

You can have the very best offer ever, but if no one looks at the sales page, or the sales page doesn’t give them a reason to act and buy, you’re never going to see any money. Or very little of it anyway.

Do the work, prepare correctly and you won’t waste your time and money like I did. I’ll make a quick list of all of the things I should have done and what I will do for the next WSO I create. And I’d also like to add, don’t be afraid of trying!

Even if you fail, you are still one step ahead of 99% of the people who never actually do. It is one thing to watch a bunch of videos or even read a bunch of posts like this one. It’s an entirely different thing to actually do it and get real hands on experience. Just do it as the saying goes. It’s spot on!

So if you are thinking of creating your own WSO, depending on what you plan to sell, I advise a few things to figure out right from the start…

Think about how to get affiliates to mail for you. There really is only one way, offer great incentives as in big commissions. Eat some crap on the first one or two, then reap much better reward latter.

Figure your first WSO is really going to be a list builder and don’t worry about profits so much. They will come the second or third time around. Just get a list going and then when you launch your second or third WSO, you mail to your own list before affiliates get involved. This way you make the most profit. Do NOT think you’ll get by without having affiliates. You won’t, period!

Try to get some testimonials before your launch! Offer a few freebies for reviews. But do NOT do this on your sales thread! Instead, look for a few people that often buy what you are selling. Then PM them and ask if you give them a review copy if they’d be willing to give you a review you can publish. And understand that probably half of them won’t end up giving you the review. Just keep going until you have 5 or 6 anyway.

Make sure your copy sells! Do you wonder why you always see hyped sales copy? Because it makes money! Just tell people what the offer is and don’t sell them at all and you simply won’t sell anything at all. Copy is a skill, one I will work hard on for now on. Check out The Gary Halbert Newsletter to learn from a master.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best. I have a few ideas on what to do now. Things I should have thought about before I ever launched my WSO.

Like I said, I don’t regret what has happened. It was a slight kick in the face though. And it still stings. But I am determined to figure this out and make it work. And if I can’t, maybe I’ll just crawl up into a fetal position and hope it all goes away. LOL!

If you want to check out the actual live thread, here’s the link…

http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-special-offers-forum/530046-50-private-label-rights-amazon-reviews-plus-ebook-700-plus-words-each.html#post5507369

And as always, feel free to ask me whatever you want. I’m not sure how much I can help, but I’ll try. And if there is something you want me to explain about creating or launching your own WSO, just ask. And good luck!

So I was recently in a discussion on PLR – Private Label Rights. It had to do with someone finding out that a “guru” they followed made a product from PLR. This person felt slighted and a whole thread became heated with debate on whether it was acceptable or not to create a product using PLR.

The problem was, the person who owns the forum does a lot of PLR in the way that was complained about. And I wonder if the truths weren’t a bit skewed. So I am going to write about it here and hope the people reading this can give some feedback.

So here is my reply, unedited, I too was a bit unsure how I should reply. I don’t want to burn bridges, but at the same time I have very strong feelings of what and what does not pass for a “product” in the IM world. Or any world. So here is my reply…

Okay, I should probably walk away form this one…but something keeps drawing me back. And now I am most likely really going to put my foot in it…but here goes…I think PLR should be for freebies, list builders, not a product.

I will be launching a PLR product on the 26th for various reasons. So I am not against PLR. I just feel PLR has its place. And as a product, for me anyways, that isn’t the place. Here is why…

If I have a client that buys my SEO course that I actually used PLR and just changed a little bit around, then that client later buys the same book without knowing, what are they going to think? What would you think?

If I bought something from anyone on this forum and they didn’t explain it was PLR and I found out it was, I’d feel a bit cheated. I was buying you, not someone else. And whether you tell me I am stupid or short sighted for my feelings, it is the way I feel. Stupid or not. No rational is going to change that.

When I buy a product from you, it is your insight that I want to buy, believe I am purchasing. Truth is I don’t even condone ghost writers if you are not involved in the product. But at least there is only one source of the information. I think ghost writers should be used to help non-writers create good readable content. Not create an entire product for them.

I guess if you are not truly adding additional value, then I don’t think you should be selling it as if you were. if it is PLR with a lot of value, then why not just sell it as such and say, “this great product was created by so and so”…if it is really great, then people will still buy it. If they don’t buy it because it isn’t your product, then aren’t you cheating them on some level to say it is?

I will always create new and unique material for my products. If I don’t, what additional value am I adding? A cover? A pretty graphic?

I never want my clients to ever feel they could have gotten the same thing they got from me from Paul, John and Henry. And to later find he could have gotten it for free from Pam for opting into her list. I just don’t feel in my bones that is the way to a long term successful business. And I am getting so darn tired of buying product creation WSOs telling me that is what I should be doing.

But I am probably wrong on a lot of levels. And to be very open, I know that this has a lot to do with the way I feel rather than rational thought. But I can’t help the way I feel . It just is.

I hope no one feels I am jumping on them for using PLR. These are my own thoughts. But no, I’d never use PLR as a product that I would promote as my own.

In fact, as a first point of entry into my funnel, I want to have a $1 offer so I can build a list of buyers. And I want to do a “how to be a great affiliate” product for the $1 product. So I really thought about PLR. I mean, it’s only a buck. And it would save me a ton of time. Why not, right? But I just couldn’t do it. In my gut, I just don’t think it is me. And that is what’s important to me. But it is me, no one else. So find your own path to success.

Now…let the BBQ begin…I know I am most likely in for a roasting…

I received a lot of comments. And one person who I respect wrote this…

People place very little value on free. So it probably won’t get consumed nor will the end user take (prolonged) action with the content.

Meaning if I gave it away as an optin or what ever, the idea that people wouldn’t value it. The problem I see with this rational is that people buy a ton of products regardless of value and never so anything with them whether they cost $1 or $100. so I am not sure if this statement holds water.

There is also the the faction that states if it isn’t PLR, there are a lot of people that would never see the original. So by allowing PLR rights, there is a way that it adds value to the world because it is so widely distributed. Again, I just don’t agree.

So now that I am writing for my own personal website and I can say what I really think? Honestly, I would use PLR stuff for certain list building activities. But I would improve it and try to make it my own. But as far as using PLR, just slapping a new cover graphic and start selling it as a product is totally bullshit.

The only way I can see anyone creating a serious business in the IM niche selling an information product is to add value in some way. Can you buy PLR to teach a parrot to talk and make money, yup! Without a doubt. But in the IM niche? Doubtful.

The IM niche must be one of the most competitive niches on the whole web. It’s one of the reasons I love it. It forces you to be on your game at all times. It also forces you to push the envelope to succeed. To find ways to stand out, stand above, to stand on ground others never had. And that equates to value.

If you can’t add value and you are just copying or regurgitating what has already been said, why should anyone listen to you. And why would you feel good doing that at all in the first place?

I will screw up a lot and say a lot of dumb things. I will undoubtedly make an ass of myself multiple times. And what I say today may change tomorrow if someone is able to show me something that is not obvious to me at this moment. But there is something I know in my soul, I I will push the envelope further than most to find something worth sharing. And I will add value somehow or I’ll just shut the hell up.

So I think my stance on PLR is obvious. If you use it to get started on your product but make it 99% your own and you are adding new stuff to the world by doing it, fantastic! If you are just slapping on a new cover and adding your name to it, I hope you never optin to my list. You’re simply not the kind of person I want in my tribe.

But don’t get the wrong impression. I do use and even produce PLR for mass consumption. If I want to break into the dating niche and I need an optin report, I am not going to write it. I will find PLR. And that is the difference.

I will find PLR because I am not passionate about the dating niche. I will not take the time to create a report neither from experience nor researching the topic. I am simply trying to make a buck. So I am not adding value. I am simply looking for a short cut. And I don’t even see that as wrong. As long as I am giving it away for free. It is when I sell it and say I will answer all your problems for $20 that I feel it crosses the line. Or worse, telling you I personally have all the answers to your questions and then selling the same PLR report.

See, the web is an unforgiving master. It doesn’t forget either. So put out Private Label Rights as all of your products and sooner or later people are going to realize it. How long do you think it’ll last? Not the way I plan on building a long lasting and sustainable company.

I had PLR for an optin when I first started this blog. It’s gone now. Why do you think that is? You are what you produce in this business. Produce value, and you’ll be seen as valuable. Copy, and you’ll be seen as ….you get the picture. Or am I dead wrong? Let me know your thoughts.

Yup, it just takes a bit of work. If you don’t mind that, then this tutorial should help get your site ranking in no time.

Basically we are going to use the power of other sites to help your site’s keywords rank in the SERPs. We will use a bunch of Web 2.0s and a few article directories. Now don’t roll your eyes because I am using Web 2.0s here.

I know a lot of people think the Web 2.0 sites don’t offer any juice anymore. Well, if you are using SENuke or creating Web 2.0s and never returning, then you are absolutely correct.

But if you are creating Web 2.0s and adding content once a week for a few months and building links to them, then you will see some nice link juice flow to your money sites. Now if you don’t know what sites to use, I have a list of high PR Web 2.0s here.

Now don’t look at the list and feel overwhelmed. Rather, start from the beginning and try and build out one new site each day, or do a few on a Sunday in your free time. If you actually place either some unique or very well spun content on each Web 2.0 and then build some links to them, you’ll do well.

But you need to build each property as if it were your own site. Put a little heart into it. That means have decent content on them. Include pictures. Update the sites weekly or bi-weekly for the first two months. Build some easy links to each. Comment links or bookmarking links are best. Stay away from spammy links unless you already have a tool or free way to create them.

I’d start off with a Squidoo lens personally. In fact, I’d create a lens for each page of my money site. Squidoo passes juice nicely. And just a few links to your lenses and good content and your lenses will become a PR 2-4 rather quickly.

I find them the fastest quality links to create. And it is okay to use the same account for all of your lenses for one money site. If you are giving decent content to each lens.

You can build links to your new Web 2.0 properties, again for free, but it’ll take some more work. There are two ways that do still work regardless of what others are saying. They just aren’t as extremely powerful as before. But they still work.

First is article directories. Submit one piece of content for each new WEB 2.0 property you create. You should include the top 5 article directories. That is plenty. Then you should also add your URL to some link directories. Again, these are free, they do count as a link, but they are work to get. Again, just do five or six with good PR.

So what are the benefits of doing all of this? Well, firstly it’ll teach you a lot about owning, running and maintaining a good network, how to build links that stick and give your money site a real boost. And it is all free if you do all of the work.

The biggest disadvantage? You don’t own the real estate you are building. But I don’t see WordPress.com going anywhere soon. So I wouldn’t worry so much about it.

And yes, it will work. Quite nicely if you are willing to put the work in. But most of you are not. I know that. That is why I can freely share my secrets with you. Because I already know most of you won’t even get to the first step of this. Too bad.

If you are wondering just how much you’d need to actually do to rank something…I’ve ranked number one spots for keywords with less than 1000 exact searches and not strong competition and a good URL with 2 Web 2.0′s using the above process. But there are a ton of variables.

Now this is just a basic outline. There are a lot of things you could do to improve your new network. The first would be learn how to make an RSS feed from all of your networks to help build backlinks on auto pilot. Etc… But these are things you will learn as you go. Just do what I’ve laid out above and you’ll be so far ahead of most already.

Here are a few best practices if you are a complete beginner…

Try for an EMD (EMD= Exact Match Domain). So if I am trying to get to number one for the phrase Blue Pigs, then it will really help if I own BluePigs.com.

Keywords should be in your title, in the first sentence of your articles hyper-linked back to the homepage or a page you want the juice to flow to, and in the last paragraph of the article. Also, if at all possible, try to highlight the keyword somewhere that looks natural.

Include pictures and make sure your keywords are included in them too. Once you get all of this, learn how to make free videos and place a few on YouTube for more links and visitors. The idea is to get the initial network up and going and then add stuff on over time. Thus learning new stuff and giving your free network tons of linkjuice.

If you don’t want to do the work, you can check out my article on fivver.com. Or if you want to great tool to help with backlinking and greatly reduce the amount of work you need to do at a one time cheap price, then click here. Otherwise, get out there and start ranking those sites! Let me know how you did!

CTR Max WordPress plugin serves up an ad and places it right in front of your visitors eyes depending on their search term. Wouldn’t it be amazing if someone landed on our website and found a product matching their exact search term starring them in the face when they got there? How well do you think your conversions would be? I’d bet a heck of a lot better then they are now! And if you are using WordPress, you can do just that. Quickly, easily and cheaply.

Dynamic product insertions allow you to show your visitors the exact products they were searching for, even if they land on your general product listings page. – from the sales page

I just picked up a really great plugin that is really going to be helping me with my conversions. Especially my Amazon and Commission Junction commissions. What it does is, it gives the visitor to your site a relevant ad that is placed on the landing page above the fold for the keyword they found your site for. It doesn’t matter what the title of the post is, it only matters what the keyword phrase the visitor used to reach your website.

For example, if I have a website about headphones and if a user comes to my site looking specifically for Skullcandy G.I. S6GIBXWG Gaming Headphones with Mic for Xbox White/Green, they may end up on another page for s similar product, but not that product. Usually when this happens the user will just leave and look for the next site. This increases your bounce rate. Don’t let this happen!

Rather, when they land on any page on my site, the first few things they see are advertisements from eBay, Amazon, Comission Junction, LinkShare and Overstock specifically for Skullcandy G.I. S6GIBXWG Gaming Headphones with Mic for Xbox White/Green.

In fact, if it is Amazon you are using like my site, that very ad shows up so there is no reason at all for my visitor to click off of my website. It’s front and center and clearly visible with the search term they typed to make them feel all warm and fuzzy that they are really on the right page.

And you are also able to set a default keyword in case they type in your URL or get to your site some other random way that doesn’t include a search engine search term. You can also create your own offers for any keywords as well. So for example if you had an information product for traffic, when someone use a traffic term to find your site, you own product would show. Very handy!

Not only that, say you are ranking for an obscure tag you placed on one of your WordPress posts. And you can see that you are indeed getting traffic for that term. But of course when people land on the page that isn’t specifically what they see. What do you do?

http://clickmenow.info/CTRplugin

Usually you create a new page right? One with the term you are getting traffic for. But with this plugin, you don’t need to do anything at all. The Max plugin gives the visitor the exact ads they are looking for above the fold. So no need to create additional pages if you are already ranking for a term.

Think about how profitable that can be for all of your long tail keywords. You should be able to create more revenue off of them without doing any extra work at all. Just by using this plugin. The developer is counting on it.

http://clickmenow.info/CTRplugin is giving a 60 day money back guarantee on this that states if you don’t get an immediate increase in your CTR rate on your affiliate commissions, he’ll refund your money no questions asked. So that means no risk at all. It also sounds like he’s pretty sure of his product. And after using it, I can see why!

As I am writing this, the plugin is selling for $17. That’s for use on all of your sites. There is also a developer’s license for $37. So you can use it on your clients sites and sites you flip or sell. This is really cheap and I doubt it’ll be this cheap for much longer. Good luck!

“I use the rank tracker plugin to show me other keywords that people use to find my site(s) and always tell me myself, “I need to build a page around that keyword and put some products on there”. This just saved me a sh%t load of time I don’t have and now I’m wondering how I can use this for local searches “ – a comment from someone on the plugin

One thing to mention, at the time of this writing I had tried this on a Catalyst theme website and had a bad problem. It seems there is a small incompatability with the Catalyst Theme. One the other 25 sites I tried it on, there were no other problems. In fact, it works amazingly well. I have already sent a support ticket into the developers. We will see what happens.

Just an update, Todd fixed this and this plugin rocks now! Excellent!

Right now the people at JVZoo are working frantically to make their platform the best in the industry. And I must admit, they are doing a pretty good job.

The biggest news is that they just released a a paid referral program for all members of their platform. So you will get paid every time your referrals make an affiliate sale. What does that mean exactly?

Everyone that has an account at JVZoo will get a private referral link of their own. So say you tell your friend Ozzy about JVZoo and all of the wonderful things it can do for you. So Ozzy signs up and gets his own JVZoo account and link.

http://www.jvzoo.com/register/154 (My Link)

Then he sees all of the awesome information products he can promote as an affiliate and decides to begin promoting some of them. Now each time he makes a sale, you get ten cents.

No, it isn’t a fortune. But if you have a few people and they are doing the same as Ozzy, you could make a few hundred each month for doing absolutely nothing. Not bad in my book:)

and each time the sale is made, you get your dime instantly. Just like your affiliate commissions when you use JVZoo. No waiting like ClickBank or any other program. Instant straight to your PayPal account.

That is why I believe tens of thousands of people will use JVZoo in the future to promote their information products and find affiliates.

JVZoo‘s platform is so much better than any other platform I have seen. Why is it so great? Just like I said, instant deposit of all commissions made as an affiliate.

As a product creator, you can split your sales with the affiliate and 2 or even 3 other partners all automatically. The payment is automatically split so that you never have to touch any money or make any payments at all.

And to list a product can even be free! There are two ways you can list. One is a flat fee like other programs, and one is a percentage. So you don’t need to pay anything to use JVZoo at all. And if your product never sells, then you loose nothing but the time it took to put your product on JVZoo.

But I think as a product creator or as an affiliate, there really is no better platform to begin using than JVZoo. And as far as the ten cent affiliate program, ClickBank did the exact same program when they first launched and those that took advantage are still making money with it today.

Register now so you can take advantage of what just may be the best affiliate plan you have ever joined. Click here now.

You can use these themes on websites you want to flip or sell as well as on any client sites you want. Usually developer rights cost a fortune on top of an already steep price, but these are included now. And don’t think these are bad themes. They are fantastic and really worth a lot more than what the guy is charging.

The first bundle of 3 sold 3158 copies of the WSO. There were a total of 45 refunds. Those are crazy stats! So obviously, these themes are the real deal.
They are all pre-loaded so they look just like the demo sites right out of the box. They include one click installation and there are videos and PDFs that walk you through everything.

They are clean and very professional looking. In fact, one of the themes from his first offering of 3 themes is going to be the theme I am using on my first product website. So it has to look great! Check these bad boys out and tell me if I am telling you something good:)

I’ve actually wanted to create a few products for quite a while. I came really close a few months ago with a High PR Private Network PDF. I had every intention of making it the best product out there on how to create your own networks. And I was about 90% finished when two other marketers with names much larger than mine came out with their products.

So I stopped. I gave in and let the product to gather dust on my hard drive. Even now, it is still there collecting dust and whispering to me how it wants to be let free:) And actually, as a side note, it will see the light of day. Soon. And it will be a much improved version with a serious kicker. But that’s another post.

The reason I am mentioning it here is that I kind of felt like I was never going to get a product out the door. I knew in my heart it was the smartest thing for me to do and it was something I wanted to do as well. I think maybe it’s the teacher in me. But when I see what passes for products these days, my first reaction is that I can do it better. A lot better!

But who the hell am I to have a product? I’m not famous. I am not a guru in anything. Why would anyone buy something from me? I really thought about this for a long time. Too long. It froze me from moving forward. So instead of creating things like I really wanted to do, I spun my wheels with tons of different AdSense sites, affiliate sites and SEO stuff. Buying products and constantly staying in learning mode. All great endeavorers that are paying of. They’re just not my passion!

Then it hit me. I needed to create something that people would buy no matter what they knew about me. Something that gave so much value to the client that they had no choice but to purchase it. Now the idea isn’t based on a specific type of product. The concept could work for anything at all, even a service.

But I wanted to go even further with the idea. I wanted something almost physical so that it wouldn’t matter so much who the producer was, but rather what the product could do. And that’s when I decided on a software product. I knew what I wanted to create. Problem is, I can’t write code to save my life. Plus I feel I don’t have enough experience in code to hire a freelancer and know if they are doing the right thing or not.

And then fate came into play. Or what ever you want to call it. You see, I am living in Taiwan. I am originally from New York. I’ve been here for 13 years now. Too long I think and I may be making a change soon. But anyway…I went to an entrepreneur meet up to try and make a few like minded friends. And luckily enough, I actually did just that. His name is Jake.

Jake is an entrepreneur as well. But I can see he is really an engineer at heart. And I don’t think he’d do as well selling his creations as I could. And I could never create the things that he can create. So we really are a great team I think. And this is how I’ll start off my ‘career’ in IM. By partnering up with someone who can bring to life all of the ideas I have in my head.

And by beginning with software, I am hoping to get around the whole ‘I don’t know you’ problem. Just give an amazingly valuable product at such a cheap price that you’d need to be crazy not to grab it. That’s the whole plan to my world domination! Whoohoo!

So what s the point of this post? Don’t quit to begin with. Just because you may not be able to or willing to go with your first idea doesn’t mean you just stop. Come up with another. Try again. Pick one goal that you want to achieve – for me it’s to have my own product – then move a step closer to that goal everyday. No matter what!

Secondly, think out of the box. Don’t just look at the obvious ways of creating your product or selling it. Don’t just look at yourself to create everything. Especially if you are someone new. A partnership might be great. – But of course they can be horrible as well. I have had both in my offline businesses. – But then there is outsourcing if you have the ready cash.

There are millions of products in the world. Don’t just look at a PDF. Think of all of the possibilities! Software, a shipped product, PDF, MP3, MP4 video, any combination of the above, Amazon books, self publishing in all formats, get creative!

That’s it for now. I’d love to hear what you think and what you are either doing or hoping to accomplish. Just leave a comment below:)

Have you ever sat down and really thought about what it is you are trying to do as an Internet Marketer? All of the things you either need to learn, know, do or outsource? It really is a lot of stuff. And to make matters worse it is changing all of the time. How are we supposed to keep up with everything? Is it even possible?

I feel bad for the people just coming into Internet Marketing. The longer the niche is around, the more confusing it is becoming because so many new faces are creating information in the marketplace. A lot of it is either dead wrong, misleading or taken out of context. The only real way to know which is which is through at least some experience. For instance, if you are reading this now, how do you know you can believe me? Or trust me?

One thing I’ve learned is a lot of people will tell you, “not to have all of your eggs in one basket.” Or that diversity is the key. I can tell you from experience that both online and offline that this is bull dung. Why? Simple really. How can you ever become better than your competition at something if you never learn more than 10% about the subject? You can’t. Or at least very few of us can.

Let’s look at IM for the moment. Some people say you should have affiliate sites, AdSense sites, products, offline services, the whole gambit. The only problem is, to learn how to actually implement all of those strategies with any effectiveness would take years of hard work. And even then you most likely wouldn’t be effective in more than one area anyway.

From what I see, the people that focus on one thing and one thing only seem to make the biggest money. For example, if you are into AdSense there are two people that you should know that have products and reputations. I’ve seen one of them sell just one website on Flippa for more than $1000,000. The guy also makes $20,000 plus per month from AdSense as well. Which to others is chump change. But do you think anyone makes that much money because they also spent their time learning affiliate marketing and product creation? Or are they focused on one thing and one thing only?

I really struggle with focus. I know that is my personal enemy. But when I am able to focus just for one day on one task, I can get so much more done that when I am trying to see what the latest SEO technique or software is today, which affiliate program to promote and what the WSO of the day is.

But focus goes deeper than this. To really bring value to the world, you need to pick one thing and be the best at that one thing. It could be creating great products, doing SEO, creating AdSense sites, website flipping, whatever! But pick one way of making money and get to work. And then keep at it until you make money at it and really have a handle on what you are doing.

Something that I think a lot of new Internet Marketers don’t get is, once you begin making money with one technique, doors will open all around you that you’d NEVER have seen before unless you became successful first. What do I mean?

I hear people always saying they can’t come up with ideas for products. Well, how can you if you’ve never done one single thing in your life pertaining to anything job related? Get this idea of free money out of your lazy ass head! I ain’t real!

Then others complain they don’t know what they like or where to start. Of course not, because you haven’t done anything but read and complain. Get stuck in something and then you’ll see what you are interested in or what you may have a natural knack for. Then ideas will pop into your head on all sorts of things you can create or improve upon.

But you can’t get anywhere until you do. And you’ll never be great or rich if you don’t specialize. The longer different systems of making money are on the internet, the further apart they will all grow. So just pick one and shoot for being the master. How much do you think the top people in anything make? The top 1% of AdSense I bet make a million plus per year. Products, top 1% most likely 10 million a year.

And what do all of these gurus have in common? They are all know in the Internet Marketing industry for ONE thing. Of course there will always be flukes. Always be that one person that can do a lot of different things.

But it isn’t the norm. So do you want to play the lottery with your life and try everything? Or choose one thing and know there is a beginning and an end? And at the end there is a big cha-ching:)

What do you think? Should you specialize or do it all? Let me know ad leave a comment. I’d love to hear from you.

I just bought a WSO I just couldn’t pass up. It was created by E. Brian Rose. In his headline he states how this WSO is going to be very controversial. And he wasn’t kidding! I think a lot of developers are going to be a bit pissed with this.

Basically it is a very short report on GPL law and how to use it for your extreme advantage. What it basically says is that you can ‘rip off’ anything on wrodpress.org and resell it. He backs up all of this and I think this WSO is really going to open some flood gates.

There are also links to around 70 themes that you can begin pilfering right of the bat. It isn’t as clear as I’d like. I’d like a bit more specifics as to exactly which parts of the themes he listed are usable.

It will be interesting what happens now. Do developers pull their themes off of WordPress? Will everyone just copy everyone else for now on? Lots of questions. But a great thought provoking read. If selling themes or plugins aren’t your thing, then skip this. But if you are planning on selling themes, plugins or are looking for a product of your own to sell, then grab this.

One thing to note, in order to read your PDF you’ll need to download what is an .exe file. It is some kind of file that is supposed to protect the PDF from people sharing and hot linking, etc… I had a problem with it and needed support. But all was taken care of quickly enough.

Here is the link to E. Brian Rose’s product. After you read it, give me some feedback on how you think this might change things for the better or worse?
