Build a Free High PR Network
Did you know you could build a pretty good high PR network for free? Yup, it just takes a bit of work. If you don’t mind that, then this tutorial should help get your site ranking in no time.
Basically we are going to use the power of other sites to help your site’s keywords rank in the SERPs. We will use a bunch of Web 2.0s and a few article directories. Now don’t roll your eyes because I am using Web 2.0s here.
I know a lot of people think the Web 2.0 sites don’t offer any juice anymore. Well, if you are using SENuke or creating Web 2.0s and never returning, then you are absolutely correct.
But if you are creating Web 2.0s and adding content once a week for a few months and building links to them, then you will see some nice link juice flow to your money sites. Now if you don’t know what sites to use, I have a list of high PR Web 2.0s here.
Now don’t look at the list and feel overwhelmed. Rather, start from the beginning and try and build out one new site each day, or do a few on a Sunday in your free time. If you actually place either some unique or very well spun content on each Web 2.0 and then build some links to them, you’ll do well.
But you need to build each property as if it were your own site. Put a little heart into it. That means have decent content on them. Include pictures. Update the sites weekly or bi-weekly for the first two months. Build some easy links to each. Comment links or bookmarking links are best. Stay away from spammy links unless you already have a tool or free way to create them.
I’d start off with a Squidoo lens personally. In fact, I’d create a lens for each page of my money site. Squidoo passes juice nicely. And just a few links to your lenses and good content and your lenses will become a PR 2-4 rather quickly.
I find them the fastest quality links to create. And it is okay to use the same account for all of your lenses for one money site. If you are giving decent content to each lens.
You can build links to your new Web 2.0 properties, again for free, but it’ll take some more work. There are two ways that do still work regardless of what others are saying. They just aren’t as extremely powerful as before. But they still work.
First is article directories. Submit one piece of content for each new WEB 2.0 property you create. You should include the top 5 article directories. That is plenty. Then you should also add your URL to some link directories. Again, these are free, they do count as a link, but they are work to get. Again, just do five or six with good PR.
So what are the benefits of doing all of this? Well, firstly it’ll teach you a lot about owning, running and maintaining a good network, how to build links that stick and give your money site a real boost. And it is all free if you do all of the work.
The biggest disadvantage? You don’t own the real estate you are building. But I don’t see WordPress.com going anywhere soon. So I wouldn’t worry so much about it.
And yes, it will work. Quite nicely if you are willing to put the work in. But most of you are not. I know that. That is why I can freely share my secrets with you. Because I already know most of you won’t even get to the first step of this. Too bad.
If you are wondering just how much you’d need to actually do to rank something…I’ve ranked number one spots for keywords with less than 1000 exact searches and not strong competition and a good URL with 2 Web 2.0′s using the above process. But there are a ton of variables.
Now this is just a basic outline. There are a lot of things you could do to improve your new network. The first would be learn how to make an RSS feed from all of your networks to help build backlinks on auto pilot. Etc… But these are things you will learn as you go. Just do what I’ve laid out above and you’ll be so far ahead of most already.
Here are a few best practices if you are a complete beginner…
Try for an EMD (EMD= Exact Match Domain). So if I am trying to get to number one for the phrase Blue Pigs, then it will really help if I own BluePigs.com.
Keywords should be in your title, in the first sentence of your articles hyper-linked back to the homepage or a page you want the juice to flow to, and in the last paragraph of the article. Also, if at all possible, try to highlight the keyword somewhere that looks natural.
Include pictures and make sure your keywords are included in them too. Once you get all of this, learn how to make free videos and place a few on YouTube for more links and visitors. The idea is to get the initial network up and going and then add stuff on over time. Thus learning new stuff and giving your free network tons of linkjuice.
If you don’t want to do the work, you can check out my article on fivver.com. Thanks for this insight Bill, it really is a strategy that is proven to work, if you put the time in.
That’s they key phrase, “if you put in the time”…So many people want it today and just aren’t willing to work for it. Too bad.
Thanks for the awesome post! I had to start laughing when I read: “That is why I can freely share my secrets with you. Because I already know most of you won’t even get to the first step of this. Too bad.”
So true. The first set of these that myself and a buddy of mine were building for our sites was painful. So painful in fact that we decided to give up and just use SenukeX and not do it manually. Big mistake on my part.
Thanks and I will hire a VA to do this for me.
Michael
Michael, yeah, seems to be the situation. And it really is too bad. Most people seem to fail before they even really try. Update me later when you start to see some results and let us know how well or poorly your network helped you. Thanks for the visit!
I have 3 or 4 Web 2.0 properties with 30+ pages on them. They did give me an SEO boost, but I never could get the results I wanted. Overtime I stopped posting and the content just got stale.
I think if I can pump out like 100 articles a day like Paul Clarke it would work extremely well, but I just can’t do it for some reason.
Did you ever build links to them? They should have enough content on them. But to really make them worth it, you need to send some links to them to get them juiced. With 30 posts on them, I think a few links is definitely worth doing. Let me know.
Mostly link networks and other services. Backlink Solutions, Backlinks Genie (pyrmaids, bookmarking, “High PR” profiles), dripfeedblasts, Linx Boss etc. Recently I just threw 600 pligg links at them.
I always tried to throw links at them.
My competition is building their own link networks or having maybe 10-15 other successful money sites and linking them together. Plus, they do the usual UAW, blog networks and comments etc. etc.
Right now those are the sites that seem to have rankings that stick.
